DIAMNIADIO, SENEGAL — In an address delivered before national economic actors and foreign diplomatic missions at the CICAD center in Diamniadio, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko formally presented 'Vision Sénégal 2050: A Sovereign, Just and Prosperous Nation.'
The 25-year structural plan articulates a decisive departure from consumption-based debt financing toward domestic industrial transformation, agricultural food sovereignty, and transparent governance of natural gas and mineral resources.
Key performance pillars include tripling domestic per-capita manufacturing output, reducing youth unemployment to single digits by 2035, and phasing out raw agricultural imports through localized rice, wheat, and edible oil processing clusters.
